**Phlebotomist Representative I - Hospital - Taylor, MI, Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM or 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with rotational weekends** Represents the face of our company to patients within the hospital systems at Quest Diagnostics, both as part of their routine health management or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The Phlebotomist I draws quality blood samples from patients while following established practices and procedures. The Phlebotomist I has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner. The Phlebotomist I will demonstrate Quest Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy to patient information. Successful applicants will be assigned to work in a fast-paced hospital environment. employee may be eligible to receive shift differential of 10% for some or all hours worked on second shift and 15% for some or all hours worked on third shift. Depending on whether it is a part-time or full-time position, some of the benefits offered may include: **Part-time employees (29 hours or less per week) are eligible for:** - Vacation and Health/Flex Time (part-time employees scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week) - 6 Holidays plus 1 “MyDay” off (if regularly scheduled to work 20+ hours per week) - 401(k) pre-tax and/or ROTH IRA with company match up to 5% after 12 months of service - Employee stock purchase plan - Education assistance through MyQuest for Education - Annual, no-cost health assessment program Blueprint for Wellness® - and so much more! ### Responsibilities - Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all age groups. - Accurately label and process specimens according to laboratory protocol. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of phlebotomy carts and work areas. - Administer oral solutions according to established training, such as Glucola. - Data entry and processing specimens including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test order. - Perform departmental-related clerical duties when assigned such as data entry, inventory, stock supplies, and answer phones when needed. - Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures: (i.e. Procedure Manuals, Safety Manual, Compliance Manual, Employee Handbook, Quality Assurance Manual); and ensure that all staff members follow instructions. - Observe infection control and safety protocols at all times. - Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner and based on frequency, such as maintenance logs and temperature logs. - Responsible for completing all data entry requirements, where applicable, accurately including data entry of patient registration; entry of test order from requisition or pulling order from database; managing Standing Orders. - Ensure facilities are neat, clean and in good repair, takes appropriate action to advise Group Leader or Supervisor of required repairs and maintenance. - Complete training courses and keep up to date with the latest phlebotomy techniques. - Communicate effectively with patients, nursing staff, and lab personnel. - Participate in special projects and teams. - Rotate through inpatient, outpatient, physicians’ offices, and ED settings as scheduled. - Assist with training new staff or students as needed. - Stay up to date on company communications. - Performs additional duties and responsibilities as needed. ### Qualifications **Requir…
