Our supportive culture is built on **respect**, **friendliness**, and a **shared commitment to exceptional patient care**. **What You'll Do** We're looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented **Phlebotomist** who is committed to delivering exceptional patient care through accurate specimen collection and laboratory support. - Collect blood and other patient specimens using a variety of collection techniques, including venipuncture and finger sticks. - Verify patient identity and prepare specimens for laboratory testing and analysis. - Perform drug screenings and breath alcohol testing. - Process and prepare specimens for transport while maintaining quality and safety standards. - Answer multi-line phones and respond to email and fax inquiries. - Process department mail and complete other clerical duties as needed. - Participate in on-call rotation and provide carrier services when required. - Maintain accurate documentation and perform other duties as assigned. - **Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned** **Who We're Looking For** The ideal candidate is dependable, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys balancing hands-on patient interactions with clerical and operational responsibilities. - Certification as a Phlebotomist preferred. - American Heart Association BLS certification required within 3 months of hire and maintained throughout employment. - 0 to 2 years of phlebotomy experience or equivalent preferred. - Knowledge of phlebotomy practices, patient safety, specimen collection, and laboratory procedures. - Strong problem-solving, organization, and quality assurance skills. - Ability to work independently and remain calm in emergency situations. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients, providers, and coworkers. - Proficiency in English, both written and verbal. - Experience with arterial blood collection and general specimen collection preferred. - Ability to become proficient within six months in Microsoft Office and applicable hospital systems, including Meditech, Kronos, HealthStream, Mayo, Carescripts, Allscripts, and Galactica. - **Other duties as assigned.** **What We Offer**Our total rewards package includes - **Pay Range:** $20.43 - $27.55/hour (based on experience) - **Comprehensive Benefits:** Medical, dental, vision, PTO from day one, extended illness time, retirement plan with match, and more - **Perks:** Payroll deductions for hot springs, gyms, ski passes, pet insurance, access to outdoor recreation, and more! *Compensation may vary outside this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.* ***Position is open until filled unless posted otherwise.*** **Why Join Grand River Health?**As a special taxing district, we are accountable to our community, allowing us to prioritize **exceptional patient-centered care** over financial bottom lines.
