## Description **The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD** (“The HARRIS CENTER”) is looking for a certified **Pharmacy Technician PRN t**o embark on a rewarding healthcare career! Reporting directly to our dedicated Pharmacist-in-Charge, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team, providing essential services in the preparation of consumer prescriptions. This vital role adheres strictly to the rules and regulations set forth by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, ensuring the highest standard of service for our valued patients. Be part of our mission to promote health and wellness through the careful handling of prescriptions in our progressive and supportive work environment. **Your Role in Action:** - Preparing prescriptions. - Pre-packing of supplies, generating reports, & maintaining appropriate inventory levels. - Conducts monthly unit inspections where medications are dispensed, stored, and administered. Identifies and retrieves outdated supplies - Order pharmaceuticals and supplies in a manner that optimizes cost and contract compliance. - Compliant with agency educational and licensure requirements. **What qualifications you will need:** **Education:** - High School Diploma or general education degree (GED). **Experience:** - 2 years of related experience working in a pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician and 1 year of experience doing independent pharmacy assistance program (PAP) functions. - Must have some hospital pharmacy exposure. - 2 years of retail pharmacy experience preferred. **Other Requirements:** - Valid Texas Driver’s License required. - Current Certified Pharmacy Technician License through the Texas State Board of Pharmacy **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:** - The person must have well-developed interpersonal, organizational skills, be a team player with a desire to provide quality work. - Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. - Must be computer literate and able to use software effectively. - Should also demonstrate a proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. - Strong communication skills with ability to effectively converse and listen to others and construct clear and concise written communication. - Ability to identify and offer solutions to resolve problems, using knowledge of the organization to identify helpful resources. - Effective time management and organizational skills. **Each credential holder/candidate must:** - Act consistent with all legal requirements relating to pharmacy technician practice, including Federal, State, and local laws and regulations. - Refrain from any behavior that violates legal or professional ethical standards, including all criminal laws, Federal laws and agency regulations, and State laws and regulatory agency rules. - Refrain from conduct that is threatening, intimidating, harassing, or deceptive when acting within a professional role. - Maintain good standing with all applicable governmental or quasi-governmental agencies governing pharmacy technician practice. **What else you should know:** At The Harris center, we value growth and development, and as such, this role presents a unique opportunity for advancement to the role of Pharmacy Technician II!
