The minimum qualifications outlined below apply to the Engineer with increased education, skill, experience and certification requirements for higher level Engineer Sr.*** **What You’ll Do:** **Essential Job Functions & Tasks** The System Analysis group is a foundational part of the Distribution organization because we are involved with almost every aspect of providing electrical service to the customer. Each Electrical Engineer is responsible for performing engineering work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient manner for the accomplishment of assigned objectives. The following are activities that will be performed, but are not limited to: - Perform circuit loading and flow analysis utilizing CYME software - Design circuit protection schemes using CYME TCC software - Review daily, weekly and monthly reliability reports to identify opportunities for improvement - Identify and develop reliability improvement plans for the assigned area - Assist the Operations group with system issues whenever needed – 24/7 support - Assist with Outage Restorations either in the office or in the field – travel may be required - Provide guidance on large customer load additions and service plans - Develop and score improvement projects for the annual work plan using the PVR tool - Respond to customer and quality of service inquiries – possible field work - Design and coordinate the installation of Distribution Automation schemes (DACR) - Provide engineering expertise to the Distribution Design group - Support the Distribution Dispatch Center with load transfers and switching orders - Provide / Install settings for electronic equipment including reclosers, regulators and capacitors - Collaborate / communicate with various departments and groups across the company - Provide Project Management support during phases of project development and construction - Provide centralized leadership and coordination across all districts by defining Perfect Power team roles - Standardize Perfect Power work practices and maintain Standard of Work Documents - Deliver executive-level visibility to Perfect Power metrics and performance including customer minutes of interruption (CMI). - Heavy focus on data analytics and continuous improvement driving enhancements to Grid Scope and other reporting tools for Community of Practice Groups. - Utilize programming tools such as Python to analyze large data sets and identify actionable insights In addition to these specific activities, the following key competencies are needed: Technical Expertise: Exhibits journey level proficiency plus advanced knowledge that enables the engineer to serve as a leader within the assigned organization. Keeps abreast of new products, developments, technologies, procedures, and equipment. Understands and analyzes interrelationships between systems and component equipment. Interprets codes and regulations and develops standards relevant to the area of assignment. Leadership & Guidance: Provides guidance and exercises judgment and discretion in providing training, guidance and/or direction to other Engineers. Leads, facilitates, and coordinates work activities of others within the work group, team, department, corporate entity, or those external to the company as required to perform all routine engineering work.
