As a tutor, you will support your peers in achieving their learning goals while learning and growing as a professional. As a tutor you will: - Enhance your communication skills - Increase your understanding of and gain new perspectives on the subject you tutor - Better understand the learning process through tutor training and your work with peers with other learning styles and educational experiences - Gain mentorship skills - Enjoy flexible hours (4-12 per week) in a convenient on-campus work location - Earn a starting wage of $12.00 per hour **Duties and Expectations:​** - Provide tutoring and support in one of our service areas - Assist learners in the development of effective study skills and test-taking strategies - Learn and continually apply TLC and tutoring program procedures - Regularly check staff email and communicate with other staff members - Attend required orientations, meetings, and training sessions ## **Key Job Responsibilities:** ## **Department:** Tutoring Learning Center **Compensation:** $12.00 **Required Qualifications:** - Completed at least one semester at UWSP with **at least** two semesters remaining - Demonstrate a strong grasp of course material as evidenced by a 3.0 GPA or above and/or a faculty recommendation letter. - Available to tutor for at least two semesters - Willing to work with peers in a collaborative, inclusive learning environment - Enjoy helping others learn ## **Education:** Completed at least one semester at UWSP with at least two semesters remaining ## **Contact Information:** tlctutor@uwsp.edu ## **Special Notes:** Through the discovery and dissemination of knowledge, UW-Stevens Point stimulates intellectual growth, provides a liberal education, and prepares students for a diverse sustainable world.
