We are proud to be part of a dedicated team committed to ending the stigma around mental health and changing the lives of our clients for the better. **About the Team** The Peer Drop-in center is a new program with AKBH. We are fully staffed by Peer Support Professionals and Peer Apprentices. It will provide support in accessing resources for housing, income and benefits, as well as a supportive environment for social interactions. This will include peer lead groups, outreach, skill development presentations, and cooking group, as well as showers, laundry and clothing closet access, in addition to kitchen access and a food pantry; with AKBH’s Intensive Outpatient programs **What You’ll Do** - Engage potential and ongoing clients who enter the center and support them in accessing resources and services that support them in meeting their basic needs - Contribute to assessment & service planning, individual & group skill building, crisis management, rehab services, knowledge of resources and an ability to efficiently connect clients, as well as other support services - Facilitate the development of recovery skills among assigned consumers as a member of the treatment team - Serve as a mentor/role model demonstrating recovery, effective coping skills, and self-help strategies - Be part of a fast-paced, highly structured, collaborative, and multidisciplinary team that share roles and responsibility for clients as needed to provide ongoing support **Good To Know** - Position is based in Anchorage, Alaska - Full-Time, Non-Exempt - Pay Range is between $20.00 and $26.25 depending on experience - AKBH offers generous benefits including two healthcare options for employees and their dependent children; 401k with immediate vesting and up to 5% match, 3% automatically contributed by AKBH; 5 weeks of PTO for the first year and 8 weeks of PTO after the first year. **What We Need from You** - You have a high school diploma or GED - You have personal life experience in recovery from mental illness, or substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders and are comfortable sharing your personal life experiences surrounding recovery in a way that offers support to those you will serve - You have one to two years of volunteer experience in the mental health and/or substance abuse fields and are willing to become Peer Certified as part of your initial onboarding **Alaska Behavioral Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.**
