The report contains information on security policies as well as crime and fire statistics for the University. ## Description The Peer Mentor will: - Serve as a role model and positive influence for students - Lead small groups of students - Mentor students on succeeding in college - Lead academic workshops - Mentor students in a one-on-one setting - Participate in staff training and staff meetings - Assist with general duties and administrative tasks - Respond to email requests in a timely manner ## Requirements - GPA of 3.5 or higher, with successful completion of ENG 110 & 120 and at least a A- in writing and/or writing-enhanced courses. - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Familiarity with research process and citation style guides such as MLA, APA and Chicago - Ability to communicate and interact with people of all ages and backgrounds - Ability to adjust approaches to different learning styles - Must be able to handle confidential information in a discreet manner - Reliable and patient with visitors
