**Position Summary** Prepares and dispenses medications to patients. Assesses the appropriateness of the physician's medication orders. Provides care to patients of varying ages with age related needs. **Minimum Position Requirements** **Work Experience:** - No previous work experience required. - One (1) or more years work experience in a Pediatric Hospital preferred. **License/Registration/Certification:** - Current Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Texas. - Current Sterile Compounding Certification Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) approved Sterile Compounding Certification or letter from an accredited school of pharmacy confirming Sterile Compounding Certification with a minimum 20 hours of training completed - Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire; for existing employees, within 6 months of signing job description - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire; for existing employees, within 6 months of signing job description - Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months of hire; for existing employees, within 6 months of signing job description **Education and Training:** - Graduation from accredited School of Pharmacy. - 12 hours of Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) approved continuing education per year. **Required Skills:** - Knowledge and experience with UD, I.V. additives and therapeutics. - Knowledge of law, regulations, and accreditation standards related to the distribution and control of scheduled and non-scheduled drugs and pharmacy security. - Advanced computer skills. - Ability to communicate effectively with hospital staff and patients.
