## Overview 34 hours a week. ## Description - Answer phones in a pleasant manner, deal with patient needs expeditiously, screen or forward calls, take messages and enter them into the patient EHR for the nurse or provider, provide information or schedule appointments. - Greet persons entering establishment in polite, prompt and helpful manner, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations. - Register new and established patients; use multiple software systems to track patient information, process and generate information necessary for billing. - Distribute ‘Welcome to The Practice’ packet to new patients. - Work with nursing to schedule visits with interpretive service if needed. - Update patient insurance information and demographics, collect and record co-payments, provide any necessary forms needing completion, and obtain required signatures as necessary. Forms include but are not limited to, ABN's, non-coverage forms, HIPAA forms, and Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP). - Reconcile patient deposits nightly; provide completed information to the business office on the next business day. - Transmit information or documents to customers, using computer, mail, or facsimile machine. - Scan and maintain records. - Schedule appointments ensuring the correct amount of time is schedule according to the patient diagnosis and reason for visit. Maintain and update any changes in the schedule. - Assist patient to identify their PCP and work to align patient’s visit with their PCP - Participate in nurse/provider scheduling huddles. - Prepares for, attends and participates in team meetings, quality projects and team huddle. - Analyze data to determine answers to questions from patients or members of the public. - Coordinate services with other departments. - Notify patients about the prompt pay discount for clinic visits, collect point of service payments, and provide patients with financial paperwork. - Supports and abides by the mission, values, and policies of CHCS in all activities.
