Obtains and verifies accurate identification and demographical data for the patient’s permanent medical record, and assist in accurate reimbursement. Recognizes and maintains the confidentiality of all patient information, pre-registers all scheduled procedures, and ensures accurate billing by verification and/or authorization of all accounts. Also accurately enters technical terminology for each test. **Schedule** Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm - Rotating Weekends **Education** Required - High School diploma or equivalent **Work Experience** Required - 1 year related hospital, clinic, medical office, business services/revenue cycle, front line registration, financial counseling, banking, hotel retail and/or customer service related position. **Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)** - Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard. - Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. - Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information - Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard - Strong analytical and problem solving skills **Job Duties** • Greets all patients in to the hospital following department's policies and procedures. • Checks to make sure that patient has physician's order, insurance card(s) and picture identification. • Demonstrates respect and cooperation in all staff relationships, and a genuine willingness to prevent or resolve inter-personal conflicts. • Responds appropriately to questions received from the client and uses communication techniques to ascertain that the client understands instructions. • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
