The Position: The Pastry Baker is responsible for baking from scratch production of artisan baked goods, including laminated pastries, breakfast pastries, cookies, pies, individual pastries, and cakes, including wedding cakes. within a commercial bakery setting. They ensure the quality, taste, and consistency of pastry while adhering to food safety standards. The Pastry Baker collaborates with other bakery staff to meet production goals and deliver exceptional products to customers. The Location: Norwich, VT; onsite daily. The Pay: $19.64 to $22.14 per hour worked; commensurate with experience. The Schedule: This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week with one weekend day required. The shifts are five 8-hour days or four 10-hour days and start as early as 3:00AM. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs all areas of pastry production that includes making from scratch pastry baked goods, including laminated pastries, breakfast pastries, cookies, pies, individual pastries, and cakes, including wedding cakes. within a commercial bakery setting Contributes to improvement of bakery operations by participating in product development, menu planning, keeping current with baking trends, innovation. Completes bakery administration tasks as necessary, which may include product ordering, and assisting in monitoring inventory. Works cross functionally with departments in the facility and companywide. Participates in professional development as recommended by leadership or self-directed. Sustains a clean work environment and adheres to food safety and sanitation standards. Assists in training interns and new bakers.
