Part-Time School Crossing Guards

Our client is seeking School Crossing Guards, Guards are responsible for helping ensure the safe crossing of students and pedestrians at assigned intersections, streets, or highways before and after school hours. This position requires dependability, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while maintaining positive interactions with students, parents, school personnel, and the public. ### Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Direct pedestrians and students safely across assigned streets or highways. - Monitor traffic conditions and assist with the orderly movement of pedestrians. - Report violations of traffic laws and other safety concerns to the appropriate authorities or supervisors. - Report to duty on time and remain at the assigned post for scheduled shifts. - Work schedules may vary depending on assigned post location and school operating hours. - Interact courteously and effectively with students, coworkers, supervisors, parents, and members of the public. - Maintain awareness of traffic and pedestrian safety hazards. - Perform other duties as assigned. ### Minimum Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Basic knowledge of traffic laws, regulations, and pedestrian safety practices, or the ability to quickly learn and apply such information. - Ability to work with minimal supervision. - Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with students, coworkers, supervisors, and the public. - Ability to remain alert and make sound decisions in a fast-paced traffic environment. ### Physical Requirements - Ability to stand for extended periods of time. - Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. - Ability to see, hear, and react appropriately to traffic and pedestrian activity. - Ability to walk short distances and perform the physical duties associated with traffic and pedestrian safety. ### Desired Skills and Abilities - Dependable and punctual attendance. - Good judgment and attention to safety. - Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. - Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations. ### Working Conditions - Outdoor work environment. - Part-time schedule with hours primarily before and after school. - Work times may vary based on assigned location and operational needs. **Equal Opportunity Employer** We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace and encourage all qualified candidates to apply. #Jazz2
