This is an East Kingston Position that will take place at Seacoast Classical Academy in a 5th grade classroom. These duties include: Preparation of materials. Supervision of children in the classroom, in school activities, at recess, during bus arrival and dismissal, and at other times when asked. Primary concern during supervision is to keep children:safe physically and emotionally; following rules; developing problem solving skills; communicating with adults regarding their interactions while at school. Communication with teachers and other professionals regarding duties. Participation in staff development activities within the school day. Evaluation of performance will include: Quality/Quantity of work Accurate/Thorough Able to plan and implement small group instruction Student planners/notebooks completed in professional manner & consistently charts progress Sound Judgment/Decision-making exhibited Work habits Organized and effectively uses time to support students Dependable; initiates communication Adaptable/Flexible, volunteers & assists as needed Positive, respectful and cooperative attitude Demonstrates initiative/self-starter Work relationships Follows chain of command Works well with other adult staff Contributes to the school community Communicates effectively with supervisors Maintains professional boundaries with parents & students Work Commitments Completes assignments effectively Follows procedures and school rules Complies with district safety policies and practices' Demonstrates consistent attendance & is on time Maintains professional appearance and demeanor Self motivated and volunteers to support school vision Student Interaction Helps establish and maintain a positive, caring, and challenging learning environment Fosters student independence Provides effective behavior management for all students Takes action when needed, following procedures Supports student academic and behavior needs Treats students with fairness, respect, and consistency Communication Skills Writes and speaks clearly Conveys important messages to teachers, case manager and administration Maintains confidentiality in all communication Implements school and district guidelines Additional Duties: Assist guidance, pupil services staff or building administration, as needed.
