Part-Time Emergency Management Specialist

• Receives all special event applications and initiates the departmental approval process • Maintains a thorough knowledge of the City’s Special Event Ordinance and recommend changes to the Emergency Management Coordinator • Answers inquiries from event organizers in a timely manner • Receives all Tier II Hazardous Materials reports, uploads and manages the Hazardous Materials database • Assists with development and maintenance of plans and procedures, including but not limited to: Event Action Plans, Incident Action Plans, and Emergency Operations Plans and associated annexes • Assists with the conduct of training and exercises to evaluate the readiness and effectiveness of the City’s emergency response capabilities • Assists with Emergency Operations Center activation as directed by the Emergency Management Coordinator • Conducts administrative tasks including, but not limited to, records maintenance, composition of reports, and meeting minutes**Education and Experience:**High School Diploma or equivalent required with experience in Emergency Management or a closely related field is preferred. Completion of the FEMA Basic Academy preferred within one year of employment.
