Receives, sorts, and stores donated items in the Warehouse storage area, determines the acceptability of donated items based on established standards, assists in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area. **Key Responsibilities:** - Receives, inspects and sorts donated items according to the category and condition. - Selects items suitable for storage and distributes same to appropriate storage area in accordance with established procedures. - Tags items with dates in accordance with established procedures. - Packs items in boxes and marks boxes; accordingly, assists in transporting boxes to appropriate storage area. - Prepares non-suitable items for discard. - Lifts and carry items to the appropriate destination for further processing and storage. - Maintains inventory of items in storage; reports any known entries after hours or missing items. - Discourages unauthorized visitors in the warehouse area; notifies supervisor immediately of the same. - Maintains warehouse and loading dock areas in a neat and orderly manner; cleans floors, tables and work areas. - Loads and fluffs clothes in the bailer machine to secure a solid bail of clothing with wire. - Operates forklift to transport bail to truck. - Ensures forklift is maintained in proper working order, fueled and ready for use; maintains service records of the same; acquires bids for repairs when necessary. - Recycles cardboard boxes and cuts cardboard for use with the bailer machine. **Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:** Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to perform frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting or operating a vehicle. Work is performed in a normal store environment where there is little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
