Part- Time Aftercare Staff (NE)(2026-2027)-St. John Regional Catholic School, Frederick MD

**St. John Regional Catholic School** is seeking energetic, compassionate, and creative **Aftercare Assistants**. Our assistants engage children in play-based learning experiences through movement, music, hands-on activities, and imaginative play. Extended Care staff are responsible for providing care and supervision to children after the school day ends. Their primary responsibility is ensuring the safety, well-being, and positive development of the children in their care. **Essential Functions:** - Understands, supports, and implements the school's philosophy. - Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with state licensing rules and regulations. - Communicates clearly and empathetically with students, parents, and coworkers. - Enthusiastically and warmly greets and engages children. - Demonstrates strong organizational skills in the classroom. - Maintains confidentiality regarding students, their families, and other employees. - Ensures the safety and active supervision of students at all times. - Works collaboratively with teachers, staff, and school administration. - Is comfortable working in a faith-based environment. - Is comfortable receiving and following directions from teachers, directors, administrative staff, and team leaders. - Works cooperatively and collaboratively with staff members. - Assists with student accountability, attendance tracking, behavior coaching, instruction, supervision, snack preparation and distribution, opening lunches, and other related duties. - Is able to work both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather. **Position Qualifications:** - Minimum of a high school diploma and a 90-hour Child Care Certification. - Experience in a Catholic school setting preferred. - Appreciation for young students and their families. - Willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Faith and the Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Schools. - Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred. - Prior to hire, must complete a medical examination, EpiPen training, and any additional training required by school licensing regulations. **Pay Range:** $15.00, Hourly **Benefits:** We offer a generous paid sick leave benefit with this position, and employee automatic enrollment in the 403(b) plan.
