This position will: - Enforce parking ordinances on foot, bicycle or by vehicle in the downtown central business district and throughout the City - Issue citations for violations - Assist with traffic control - Meet with downtown merchants to hear concerns - Provide professional customer service to the public This is a 40 hour workweek position with benefits. A High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of customer service or dispute resolution experience is required; some college-level coursework in criminal justice or a related field is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed in the[job description](https://www.grantspassoregon.gov/DocumentCenter/View/22930/Parking-Enforcement-Officer). **Licensing Requirements** (positions in this class require): - Oregon Driver’s License – Class C - Law Enforcement Data System Certificate will be required within 90 days of appointment Application materials must be completed on-line to be considered for this position. Cover Letter The ranking and selection of applicants to proceed in the process includes: experience, responses to supplemental questionnaire, and meeting minimum qualifications of the position. The initial selection process for this position includes the following steps: application review, oral interview and chief interview. The final selection process following interview includes the following steps: tentative offer, criminal history check, background/reference check, physical, drug screening and final offer of employment. All candidates will be notified of the status of their application after the closing date.
