REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor JOB GOAL: To install, maintain, repair and service all equipment and facilities to preserve the safety of all students, staff and stakeholders at Allen Parish School Board facilities TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12-Month EVALUATION: Per Allen Parish School Board Personnel Policy COMPENSATION: According to Allen Parish School Board Salary Schedule PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs miscellaneous service, repairs, maintenance construction, general installation, and preventative maintenance work. Performs a variety of repairs and tasks including and not limited to replacing floor tile, replacing electrical ballasts and fluorescent tubes, painting, repair fencing, patch asphalt or concrete, setting forms, installing paper towel or toilet paper dispensers, patching holes in plaster or wood walls, installing screens, boards, tack boards, patching roofs, scraping paint, trenching, cleaning out keyways of locks, vandalism repair work, preventative maintenance on equipment, pressure washing, locker repair work, sheet metal repair, tile repair/ replacement both ceiling and ceramic bathroom tile, indoor, outdoor bleacher repair, grounds and tree maintenance, etc. Performs general maintenance and repairs in the areas of HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing. Perform jobs that require heavy equipment and/or lifting equipment. Upgrades and installs equipment as needed. Advises Maintenance Supervisor of problems with equipment and facilities and proposes solutions. Oversees all responsibilities associated with work orders. Operates various equipment. Moves and arranges furniture and equipment; sets up rooms for special meetings or events. Performs minor inspection duties of work performed or general building condition. Cleans worksites including hauling debris and trash to the dumpster, cleaning tools and equipment and ensuring tools, materials and equipment are stored properly. Report to Allen Parish School Board facilities to assess and repair facilities following inclement weather. Communicates appropriately with school administrators. Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain confidentiality in all matters related to the Allen Parish School Board. Maintain professional personal appearance and demonstrate respect for colleagues. Attend work regularly; report to work on time; and provide advance notice of need for absence. Gain approval from the supervisor for any time off of work. Out-of-state trip must be placed on the School Board agenda and approved by the Board. Check emails daily and reply to emails in a timely fashion. Display proper respect for authority, receive and implement constructive criticism, avoid use of sarcasm and inappropriate behavior and language when dealing with others and serve as exceptional model for all. Complete work efficiently and accurately (with few/no errors) within deadlines without supervision.
