As a Parent Partner for California MENTOR Family Support Services, a member of the Sevita family, you’ll provide guidance to individuals through your prior personal experience as a parent or guardian of a child who’s been involved in the care system. Annual Salary: $49,000 (Salary plus overtime) Full Time - 40 Hours a week Responsibilities: Guidance to parents/caregivers who have children being served through the system, sharing and relating your own prior experience Advocacy and liaison services between the families, children, clinician, treatment staff, community agencies, and services Participates as a member of the Child and Family Team (CFT), trainings, court review hearings, IEP, and other meetings and assists the parents/caregivers in bringing up and discussing difficult issues Lead or co-lead individual and parent counseling groups providing education, consultation, or other needed services Documentation and record-keeping Provide services in the home and community - Flexibility with schedule Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required Prior personal experience as a parent or legal guardian of a child who has been involved with the system (DCFS, probation, Regional Center, Dept. of Mental Health or the like) required Probation and/or DCFS case must be closed for a minimum of one year Two years of experience in a mental health setting strongly preferred Valid driver license for 1 year minimum, reliable transportation with registration and insurance.
