As a Paraeducator, you’ll assist teachers with daily lessons, supervise students, help prepare instructional materials, and support classroom management rooted in positive reinforcement. The position performs clerical and instructional support tasks, models appropriate behavior, and adheres to school and agency policies. The Paraeducator contributes to student engagement, reinforces curriculum concepts, and ensures a safe, respectful classroom atmosphere. Job Duties: - **Supports classroom instruction** — assists teachers with daily lessons, classroom supervision, learning-environment setup, and positive-reinforcement classroom management. - **Provides academic and clerical assistance** — helps with filing, grading, copying, equipment operation, and accurate completion of required paperwork. - **Maintains professionalism & confidentiality** — protects student records, follows communication protocols, and adheres to school, facility, and agency policies. - **Models positive behavior** — demonstrates appropriate grooming, conduct, fairness, respect, and constructive communication for youth in secure care. - **Supports classroom management** — supervises students when the teacher is out, assists with supervision during instruction, and helps maintain a clean, safe learning environment. - **Engages in professional development** — participates in training sessions and workshops to strengthen instructional skills and support student learning. - **Demonstrates reliability and integrity** — arrives punctually, communicates absences promptly, and refrains from inappropriate language, criticism, or behavior.
