Outside Machinist Journeyman Diesel Mechanic

***OUR CORE PILLARS: Safety | Operational Excellence | Shareholder Value*** Propulsion Controls Engineering has a job opening for an **Outside Machinist Journeyman Diesel Mechanic**, with a minimum of 5 years diesel experience preferred. PCE is a full service electro-mechanical repair and diesel repair contractor. PCE has garnered a wealth of extensive experience in successfully executing major system overhauls across numerous ports throughout the world on virtually every class of ship currently in operation. **Job Summary / Outside Machinist: Diesel Mechanic** Perform major and specialized mechanical overhaul and repair work on diesel marine engines and related marine equipment and systems using work specifications and technical manuals. **Duties and Responsibilities** - Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work performed. - Maintain open communication with the management team regarding job status, updates, and changes. - Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs and solutions. - Provide guidance and training to junior mechanics and apprentices. - Order and manage inventory of parts needed for repairs. - Performs other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position. **Position Requirements and Experience / Outside Machinist: Diesel Mechanic** - Must be 18 years of age or older to apply. - Minimum 5 years of marine and/or shipyard experience preferred. - Use of measuring devices (rulers, micrometers, dial indicators, depth mics, scales, etc.), hand tools, and power tools **Benefits** **:** - Health Insurance (medical, dental, vision, company paid life insurance, voluntary plans such as supplemental life insurance, critical illness, and hospital indemnity) - Paid Time Off - Company paid holidays - Retirement savings plan (401(k) plan with company matching and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan - Career development opportunities ***This position may require access to U.S. government or military sites.
