As a member of the health care team, the Optometrist provides eye care services at MACT clinics in accordance with accepted standards of medical and optometric practice. The optometrist will: - Provide comprehensive diagnostician work, manage, and treat conditions and diseases of the human eye and visual system. - Examine eyes and visual system, diagnose problems or impairments, prescribe corrective lenses, and provide treatment. - May prescribe therapeutic drugs to treat specific eye conditions. - Provide outpatient care for patients with eye-related disorders and conditions in accordance with the State of California Board of Optometry. - Meet regularly with other clinic providers to review patient care issues and concerns and actively participates in Quality and Performance Improvement activities - Maintain good working relations among all staff through appropriate communications. - Work with organization in development and provision of eye education for staff and patients **What you need:** - Graduation from an accredited school of optometry - Possession of a current California license to practice Optometry - Board certified/eligible in Optometry - 1 year of clinical experience preferred - Current DEA narcotic license - Current BLS/ALS certificate - Must pass Occupational Health Screening. - Must possess a valid form of identification as listed on the U.S. Department of Justice I-9 form, verified using the E Verify system. - Clean DMV driving record and MACT auto insurance driving eligibility (determined by auto insurance carrier).
