Summary: Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, responsible for equipment operation, building operation, ground maintenance, and for related work involved. - Supervise custodial work, both contract and in-house. - Hire and train Operations staff. - Approve timecards for direct reports and temporary workers. - Make minor maintenance repairs of buildings and grounds. - Visually inspect work, buildings and grounds, and equipment. - Regularly check and monitor building automation systems for alarms and deficiencies—this includes HVAC and mechanical systems. - Regularly check and adjust pool chemicals. Become CPO certified within 90 days of hire; course paid for by employer. - Perform minor electrical installations and repairs. - Use work order system to ensure maintenance requests are being completed in a timely manner. - Establish standards of operation for the department. - In conjunction with maintenance manager, arrange and adjust work schedules, including coverage for after-hour events. - Responsible for accurate completion of room, event and rental setups. - Order supplies for the building. - Availability to work evenings and weekends when necessary. - Perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Operations and/or Director of Maintenance. Qualifications: - High School Diploma/GED required; Related College or Technical degree preferred. - Demonstrated supervisory experience of employees in a maintenance or related department. - Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. - Must have the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with other JCC staff, lay leaders and customers. - Ability to climb and work with a ladder. - Ability to obtain and use a commercial chauffer’s license. - Ability to lift objects not to exceed 80 pounds. - Knowledge of cleaning materials and practices.
