What we are looking for: We're looking for an experienced IT Operations Engineer to help run and evolve the infrastructure powering our core products. You'll be responsible for the health, performance, and reliability of a large fleet of Debian Linux servers and the operational lifecycle of our in-house software stack. This is a hands-on role for someone who's comfortable operating distributed, highly-available systems at scale and enjoys the intersection of systems engineering, automation, and production support. Own the day-to-day administration of a large-scale fleet of Debian-based servers (bare metal and/or virtualized), including provisioning, patching, hardening, and lifecycle management Build and maintain configuration management and automation to keep server configuration consistent and reproducible across environments Monitor system health, capacity, and performance; proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks before they impact production Manage package repositories, OS upgrades, kernel updates, and security patching cycles across the fleet Maintain networking, DNS, firewall, and load-balancing configuration supporting the server estate Operate, monitor, and support our in-house systems in production, including release deployment, hot code upgrades, and node/cluster management Work closely with the software engineering team to troubleshoot issues Tune system performance and stability at scale Support release engineering practices and coordinate rolling deployments and rollbacks Deploy, monitor, and maintain in-house services including build pipeline integration, packaging, and runtime configuration (e.g., JVM tuning, systemd units for Rust binaries) Diagnose and resolve production issues spanning application, runtime, and OS layers across different language stacks Collaborate with development teams to define deployment standards, health checks, and observability requirements for new services Design and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging infrastructure (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, or similar) covering OS, application, and BEAM-specific metrics Build automated tooling and scripts (Bash, Python, Go) to reduce manual operational toil and improve incident response time Participate in an on-call rotation, respond to incidents, and drive root-cause analysis and post-incident reviews Own and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines for deployments Contribute to disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity planning across the fleet and core services Implement and maintain system hardening standards, access controls, and audit logging across the Linux fleet Support vulnerability management processes, including scanning, triage, and timely remediation Ensure operational practices align with relevant security and compliance requirements Basic Qualifications: Very strong ability to listen attentively, apply logic and reason, follow- through, can-do attitude, and exceptional communication skills both written and verbal Easy to work with Sense of urgency 3+ years of experience in an IT Operations, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Systems Administration role, ideally supporting production infrastructure at scale Solid knowledge of Chinese Cantonese and Chinese Mandarin Strong hands-on experience administering Debian/Ubuntu Linux servers in production (systemd, networking, storage, package management) Comfort supporting services in production, including build artifacts, runtime configuration, and debugging Solid experience with configuration management/automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Salt, or similar) Experience with monitoring and observability tooling (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, VictoriaMetrics, or similar) Strong scripting abilit…
