It's purpose. **Overview** - Oversee the preparation and final approval of project contract documents produced by third party design consultants. - Ensure that project designs are completed on schedule and within budget. - Supply engineering expertise and guidance on projects, operations, and systems within the company’s existing facilities. - Develop and maintain equipment specifications for owner furnished and contractor installed (OFCI) equipment and systems. - Support the procurement of owner furnished and contractor installed equipment and systems through vendor submittal reviews, approvals and factory witness testing. - Maintain and update the legacy basis of design documents. - Assist in development of new basis of designs for emerging business needs. - Identify, recommend, and implement new technologies and systems to maximize energy and cost efficiency of the company’s data centers. - Communicate and implement engineering and design policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent operations. - Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in engineering and design trends related to the organizations industry. - Perform other duties as assigned. **Required Training** - Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint. - Baseline proficiency of AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Adobe Acrobat. - Expertise in diesel engine standby generators, UPS Systems, Switchgear **Required Experience** - Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. - Minimum of 7 years' experience in the design of data centers and specification of electrical equipment for mission critical facilities. **Certifications Required** - Engineering in Training (EIT) certification desired with progress towards Professional Engineer (PE) licensure. **Data Center Years Experience** - 10 Years **Driver’s License Requirement:** For roles that require on-site presence or travel between work locations as an essential function of the position, candidates must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license appropriate for the role and be eligible to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with applicable laws. **Communication Skills:** Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a professional work environment, including preparing written reports and documentation, conveying information clearly to team members, clients, and stakeholders, and responding appropriately to verbal and written communications related to job duties. **Physical Requirements and Work Environment** This position operates primarily in an active data center construction environment, encompassing both indoor and outdoor work settings. The role requires the physical ability to perform essential job functions safely and effectively in a dynamic environment that includes ongoing construction activity and evolving site conditions. The work environment includes areas and temporary structures owned, leased, or controlled by third parties over which Overwatch may have limited or no control.
