The approach at our treatment centers is firmly rooted in individualized, person-centered care to help clients uncover the why behind their disorders and help them build foundational relationships that help answer the how in moving forward # **Position Summary** This position is responsible for the health and safety of all clients. This position assesses and prescribes appropriate medications as well as assess medical and psychiatric issues/ concerns and makes appropriate referrals. This position consults with the treatment team on primary diagnosis and co-occurring issues. # **Relationships and Contacts** ***Within the organization:*** Establish and maintain productive working relationships with peers and accounting team members throughout STR Behavioral Health and affiliated facilities. ***Outside the organization***: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with third party vendors, as necessary. # **Position Responsibilities** 1. Maintaining a safe and secure environment 2. Help Clients by providing information, services, and assistance 3. Prescribe Detoxification medication regimens that are safe, appropriate, and effective for clients with substance use disorder 4. Routine checkups and Medication checks for clients in services 5. Conducting follow up and evaluation of client physical and psychiatric conditions. 6. Prescribe medications as necessary and check on the efficacy of medication regimen 7. Document clinical, medical, and psychiatric treatments and recommendations 8. Pre-screen and approve potential clients by reviewing psych and medical records for admission 9. Order Lab work and UAs as needed 10. Complete Psychiatric Evaluations for every admitting client 11. Complete physical for every admitting client 12. Make referrals to specialist as needed 13. Order and administer Vivitrol as needed 14. Consult with the treatment team 15. Complete progress notes as needed 16. Support Nursing staff. # **Minimum Requirements** **Education and Experience** Certified in the state of Pennsylvania as a CRNP or Physician’s Assistant. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Detoxification and/or Residential Setting, preferably in substance abuse or mental health. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A willingness to work with a clinical team to make recommendations and implement strategies that will benefit clients. Willingness to take calls during afterhours days and times. All necessary requirements must be met to practice adult psychiatry in Pennsylvania. **Additional Requirements** - Position requires incumbent to have a valid driver’s license - Clearance of TB test, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements. - Current CPR and First Aid certification. **Skill Competencies** - Work Standards - Sets high standards of performance for self; assumes responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed. - Communicating Effectively - Conveys information and ideas in a professional, clear, and timely manner; providing information to ensure understanding; soliciting input from the others during the communication.
