The **Nurse Practitioner** provides comprehensive and high-quality medical care to patients in a correctional healthcare setting. This role will collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care delivery and will prescribe medications, perform procedures, and manage chronic conditions. The **Nurse Practitioner** will also maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies. ***This position is Part Time, 24 hours (3 days) per week, and must be on-site.*** How YOU can Make an Impact: - Provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care to inmates in accordance with established policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines. - Perform assessments, diagnose, and treat patients, including prescribing medication and ordering appropriate tests. - Demonstrate leadership in ensuring excellence in patient care, promoting positive health outcomes and improving patient satisfaction. - Maintain confidentiality of patient medical information/history, upholding HIPAA regulations and medical ethics. - Participate in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans and ensure they are followed in a timely manner. - Provide on-call services as needed, including after-hours care, as directed by the facility or company requirements. - Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards by consistently performing thorough and accurate clinical tasks. - Respect and adhere to the facility's safety, infection control, and operational policies, ensuring a safe and effective healthcare environment. What we Ask of YOU: - A current, valid, and unrestricted license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. - Board Certification in a Nurse Practitioner primary care discipline (FNP, AGNP, AP, ED or related). - Current and valid DEA Registration, or be willing to obtain Registration. - Minimum of 2-4 years of clinical experience desired and 1-2 years of correctional healthcare experience (or other underserved populations) is very helpful. - Active CPR/BLS certificate required prior to Start Date (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved).
