For full consideration, applications should be received by July 26, 2026. The visiting assistant professor in student teaching works with all Education department programs, faculty, and staff instructing and supporting student teachers, and coordinating and training student teaching supervisors and cooperating teachers. This position will further departmental and institutional vision through equity focused practices and engaging with intentionally diverse teacher candidates and K-12 sites. This person must keep abreast of the education rules related to student teaching for all teacher licensure programs, including departmental and institutional processes as they relate to candidates in the department. The work of coordinating student teaching is equivalent to teaching 4 courses or 4/7 of the position. Three additional courses will be assigned as appropriate to the candidate's area/s of licensure and teaching experience. Primary Responsibilities - Collaborate with Education department faculty and staff, partner schools, and candidates to design and enrich the student teaching experience with attention to equity and social justice oriented teaching - ​​​​​​​Communicate with K - 12 schools and districts to meet the needs of candidates and maintain strong relationships with schools and districts - ​​​​​​​Promote successful completion of student teaching by offering information sessions, regular seminars during the student teaching semester, and facilitating individualized support plans when necessary - Provide support to student teaching supervisors and cooperating teachers through responding to co…
