NMDA/NMSU is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer. ## **Position Details** **Position Title:** NMDA Inspector Intermediate- Possible Career Development Opportunity **College/Division:** New Mexico Dept of Agriculture **Department:** 181150-NMDA PETROLEUM STANDARDS BUREAU **Location:** NMSU satellite location **Offsite Location (if applicable):** Northwest New Mexico area (San Juan and McKinley Counties) **Target Hourly/Salary Rate:** Entry level NMDA Inspector Inter ($53,165.80) or Associate ($48,332.54) **Appointment Full-time Equivalency:** 1.0 **FLSA Status**: Exempt **Bargaining Unit Announcement:** This is NOT a bargaining unit position with American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME). **Contingent Upon Funding:** Contingent upon funding **Standard Work Schedule:** Standard (M-F, 8-5) **If Not a Standard Work Schedule:** **Job Duties and Responsibilities:** This position may be underfilled as a NMDA Inspector, Associate on a career development plan if unable to fill at the NMDA Inspector, Intermediate. Minimum requirements for the associate level: Bachelor’s degree in related field, no previous work experience. Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience as approved by Human Resource Services may be used to meet the minimum requirements. Perform inspection activities of fuel quality sampling, small volume, large volume, and LPG meter inspections. ## **Qualifications** **Required Education and Experience:**Associate's Degree + 4 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant experience. **Equivalent Qualifications:** **Preferred Qualifications:** **Special Certification/Licensure:**A cover letter is required. Minimum education/equivalency must be met per the posting. 50% travel Must have and maintain a valid unrestricted driver’s license. Work may involve direct contact or exposure to allergens including but not limited to: bees, peanuts, dust, animal feed, etc. ## **Working Conditions and Physical Effort** **Environment:** Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements: i.e. extreme temp, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, loud noises, other potentially dangerous materials/situations that require safety precaution/protective equip **Physical Effort:** Considerable physical activity.
