**Job Title:** Children’s Ministry Director **Department:** New Life Midtown **Reports to:** Associate Pastor of Family Ministries **Status:** Full-Time | Salary **Schedule:** Sun - Thurs | 40 **Supervisory role:** Yes **Last updated:** 7.13.26 New Life Church's mission is to make disciples in the Pikes Peak region, by calling people to worship, connect and serve. **Job Summary** The Children's Ministry Director provides vision, leadership, and oversight for the Children's Ministry at New Life Midtown. This role partners with parents, staff, and volunteers to cultivate wisdom, wonder, and joy in children while creating a safe, engaging, Christ-centered environment where every child can grow in their faith. **Ministry Leadership** - Lead the overall direction and execution of the Children's Ministry. - Implement ministry curriculum in alignment with church vision and leadership. - Create engaging, age-appropriate Sunday worship experiences for children. - Oversee all Sunday programming and children's ministry events. - Ensure a safe, welcoming, and spiritually healthy environment for children and families. - Serve as the primary point of contact for classroom operations and ministry needs. - Implement and maintain ministry policies and procedures. - Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment. **Volunteer Leadership** - Recruit, interview, onboard, train, equip, and develop ministry volunteers. - Process volunteer applications and background requirements through CCB. - Build and communicate volunteer schedules. - Develop apprentice opportunities and leadership pathways. - Provide ongoing pastoral care, encouragement, and appreciation for volunteers. - Coordinate volunteer appreciation events and celebrations. **Family Care** - Build meaningful relationships with families. - Provide encouragement, care, and ministry resources to parents as needed. - Partner with families to support the spiritual development of their children. **Administration** - Oversee ministry communication, including phone calls, emails, and scheduling. - Maintain accurate ministry records and volunteer information. - Coordinate ministry logistics for events and weekly programming. - Execute volunteer recruitment. - Assist with departmental projects and initiatives as assigned. - Communicate regularly with the Associate Pastor regarding ministry goals, needs, and progress. - Attend departmental meetings, all-staff meetings, and other required gatherings. - Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the mission of New Life Church. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** - Demonstrates a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and spiritual maturity consistent with New Life Church's mission and values. - Strong understanding of childhood development and family ministry. - Proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire volunteers and ministry teams. - Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relational skills. - Strong organizational and administrative abilities with exceptional attention to detail. - Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. - Demonstrates wisdom, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. - Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills. - Comfortable working independently while collaborating with ministry staff. - Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and church management software (CCB experience preferred). **Education and Experience** Education: - Bachelor's Degree is preferred - Degree in Elementary Education, Children's Ministry, or a related field preferred Experience: - Three to four years of leadership experience in children's ministry or a related field preferred. **Working Conditions and Requirements of Office Environment** **Physical Demands:** Regularly required to sit and occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
