About the Network Integration Engineer role

Network Integration Engineer positions focus on delivering results in their domain. This page aggregates open Network Integration Engineer roles and what employers typically expect.

The Network Integration Engineer (NIE, hereafter) will be responsible for assessing, engineer, and implement changes to client network infrastructure based upon the customer's stated and inferred goals. Often client goals and intentions shift at various points depending on cycling resource and priority, so a strong set of communications skills with an investigatory capacity built in and a tolerance for constant change are fundamental to the position. Points of clarification are often needed during the discovery phase of what's being attempted in the network because 100% of the required information is not always immediately made known--the NIE will be required to grasp the overall intent and conceptually understand what items are missing and work towards securing answers that ultimately make the projects successful. **Location:** Remote **FLSA Status: Exempt** **Reports to:** Director, Wireless Network Solutions **Essential Job Functions:** - **Commissioning & Integration:** Performing activation, configuration, and integration of Samsung RAN hardware (small cells/macro) into Carrier environment. - **Monitoring & Troubleshooting:** Utilizing USM/VLSM tools for daily network monitoring, clearing alarms, and performing root cause analysis for performance degradation. - **Performance Optimization:** Analyzing KPIs, managing capacity, and improving Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR) to enhance 5G/LTE service quality. - **KPI Management:** Partnering with System Performance teams to analyze and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like call quality and data speeds. - **Hardware Deployment:** Overseeing the installation and optimization of wireless hardware, including mmW, vRAN, and C-Band equipment. - **Scripting & Commands:** Running scripts using SSH or PUTTY to configure hardware such as [CDU30 eNodeB](https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-paul-valera-64349a110), VDU, RRH to ensure proper setup. - **Database Management:** Documenting site configuration changes and network data within [internal tools](https://www.wayup.com/i-Information-Technology-and-Services-j-Wireless-Transport-Engineer-Verizon-745413057427170/). - **Other duties as assigned** **Required Skills:** - Experience with Samsung 4G/5G/LTE RAN equipment. - Proficiency in USM (Unified Samsung Management) for network management. - Knowledge of RF design, antenna selection, and microwave technologies. - Strong understanding of 5G C-Band and mmWave technologies. - Ability to create Methods of Procedure (MOP) for [field technicians](https://www.linkedin.com/in/bienvenido-perono-68a6717). - Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of 4G LTE and 5G NR architectures, including ORAN (Open RAN) and vRAN (virtualized RAN). - Tooling: Experience with network management software (USM, LSM), ticket systems and terminal emulators (SSH). - Field/Remote Work: Capability to work in both office environments and on-site at radio tower locations, which may involve lifting up to 50 pounds. - Understanding of telecommunications networking elements such as routers, switches, ports, and interfaces with the ability to engineer and configure - Understanding of networking protocols - Understanding of looking at status commands, log files, log messages to determine course of action - Understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 - Troubleshooting ability to isolate, diagnose, and resolve problems - Ability to write a Method Of Procedure (MOP) - 10+ years in a Networking configuration environment - Experience on these elements are a plus: • Nokia 7705 • Nokia 7250 (IXR aggregation switch) • Nokia Service Portal • Cisco ASR 920 , 1002 • Microsemi TP-4100 (EGM) - Alcatel-Lucent - CRAN - 4G / 5G / LTE **Expectations Aligned with KGI’s Culture and Values:** - Client First Mentality: There is only one boss!
