Network Engineer

**Role: Network Engineer (Level 2)** **Contract Length: 6 months, starting July** **Rate: Up to £440/day (outside IR35)** **Location: Jersey-based preferred; UK mainland applicants must be willing to travel onsite** Join a critical transformation programme. Our client's IT Infrastructure Improvement initiative. This contract opportunity suits a hands-on Network Engineer ready to contribute to modernising core infrastructure while enhancing network performance, reliability, and security. You'll play a key role in configuring and supporting network devices, resolving connectivity issues, assisting with upgrades, and maintaining detailed documentation. From daily operations to larger implementation projects, your work will support resilient and secure digital services across the organisation. **Key Responsibilities:** - Implement and document changes to routers, switches, firewalls - Troubleshoot and resolve network faults - Support hardware refresh and network optimisation - Perform compliance and security audits - Maintain network topology diagrams and configuration records **Requirements:** - 24 years experience in enterprise network support - CCNA certified (other certifications a plus) - Proficient with routing, switching, DNS/DHCP, VPNs - Familiar with tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark - Experience in structured ITSM and change-controlled environments This role is ideal for a proactive engineer eager to make an impact in a fast-paced, service-focused team.
