We have opportunities for **Maintenance Mechanics** in Richmond, VA where you’ll play a key role in keeping our plant running smoothly and safely. Perform a variety of preventative maintenance and repair tasks on equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. **Why Choose Kaiser Aluminum?** - **Competitive Pay:** Starting at **$34.67/hr.** plus shift differential. - **Set Schedules:** 2-3-2 work schedule with 7:00 to 7:00 start and stop time, which can include overtime and weekends. - **Pay-for-Skills:** Earn up to $41.66/hr. after completing pay-for-skills training. - **Monthly Incentive Bonus:** Up to **25% based on plant performance**. - **Annual Pay Increases** and **401(k) Company Match**. - **Excellent Benefits:** Low-cost medical, company-paid dental & vision. - **Vacation Eligibility After 90 days.** - **Safety Gear and Uniforms Provided**. **What You’ll Do:** - **Prioritize Safety:** Follow all safety, environmental, emergency and company policies and procedures. - **Troubleshoot & Repair:** Diagnose and resolve basic electrical and mechanical issues with machinery and equipment. - **Preventive Maintenance:** Perform routine tasks such as lubricating, aligning, adjusting, and cleaning equipment. - **Operate Equipment:** Safely use mobile equipment as needed. - **Electrical Work:** Assist with troubleshooting electrical/mechanical devices, material handling systems, machine tools, fluid controls, and automated manufacturing equipment. - **Install:** Set-up new equipment. - **Fabrication & Welding:** Perform basic welding for repairs and fabrication. - **Systems Support:** Work on hydraulic, pneumatic, combustion, and PLC systems (with opportunities to advance through our Pay-for-Skills program). - **Documentation:** Complete required paperwork to track maintenance activities. - **Housekeeping:** Maintain clean and safe work areas after completing projects. - **Project Support:** Participate in planning and construction projects as needed. - **Continuous Improvement:** Advise management on preventive maintenance needs. **What We’re Looking For:** - Safety-conscious and reliable individuals. - Team players who thrive in a collaborative environment. - Hardworking and eager to learn. **What you will bring to the role:** - High school diploma or equivalent. - Experience in maintenance required, preferably electrical, welding, machine shot and plumbing. - Three – four-year Apprenticeship completed (with Journeyman Card) a plus. - Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics or Industrial Maintenance a plus. - Solid verbal and written communication skills. - Consistent attendance and punctuality. - Ability to work well with others in a team environment and on problem solving activities. - Must be able to meet the rigors of industrial work environment **Ready to Start Your Career?** Apply today and join a company where you will be part of a team that takes pride in producing world-class aluminum products.
