The report contains information on security policies as well as crime and fire statistics for the University. ## Description The Student Assistant will provide administrative support to the department. In addition to performing miscellaneous clerical duties, the Student Assistant will also be required to answer phones and greet visitors to the office, taking detailed messages for staff follow-up as necessary. S/he will also be required to assist with various department projects as assigned. - Attend weekly staff meetings - Greet and assist incoming visitors - Manage the Publishing Blog - General clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, shredding, sending faxes and other duties as assigned - Answer phones; taking detailed messages for staff follow-up as necessary - Perform other such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time ## Requirements **PREFERENCES:** Students with Federal Work Study (FWS) awards will be given preference. - Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Canva; - Knowledge of InDesign - Must be able to handle confidential information in a discreet manner - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Reliable and patient with visitors - Office experience a plus - Ability to work independently - Strong customer service and organizational skills
