Your next great opportunity in outpatient radiology is waiting—come be part of something stellar! - **PRN - MRI Technologist** - **Shifts: 12 hours** - **Available shifts - Monday - Sunday** - **Locations for work include: 1 site in Burlington, NC and two sites in Greensboro, NC** **Description** **** The MRI Technologist provides quality care to patients undergoing MRI procedures. The technologist must demonstrate full knowledge of MRI procedures and equipment. **Duties and Responsibilities** - · Facilitate the patient experience by greeting patients, explaining pre and post-procedure instructions, and verifying the patient’s identity. Utilize AIDET Principles in all patient and provider encounters. - · Perform MRI exams using proper protocols and positioning techniques, transporting patients safely, verifying the accuracy of orders, and documenting patient information. - · Document the patient’s exam through data entry, report retrieval, scanning and recording the exam details in the electronic medical record system. - · Conduct routine start-up and closing operations including turning on equipment, performing quality control, and completing work queues. - · May be required to conduct environmental and safety procedures including cleaning and sterilizing the exam room and equipment. - · Use of proper isolation precautions when needed. - · May need to evaluate and maintain supply levels and practice safe patient maneuvers. - · Safely transfers patients to and from carts, beds, and wheelchairs. - · Positions the patient ensuring patient comfort and modesty. - · Selects proper imaging devices, provides proper shielding for patients and assisting personnel, and sets the machine to obtain optimal images. - · Conduct environmental and safety procedures including cleaning and sterilizing the exam room and equipment. Evaluate and maintain supply levels and practice safe patient maneuvers. - · Maintain professional and technical knowledge and licensure through educational workshops, professional publications, and societies. - · May be required to perform biopsies. - · Additional Duties as assigned. ## Requirements **Qualifications** **Education:** ARRT board certified (MR) **Experience:** 1 to 3 years’ experience radiologic technologist with at least 1-year training in MRI. Experience with 1.5T and 3T Siemens magnet **Knowledge:** Consistently model AIDET principles, service excellence and service recovery. Consistently demonstrate commitment to safe practices while abiding by all OSHA and HIPAA guidelines. Have sound knowledge of human anatomy and MRI safety procedures. Outstanding technologists will be highly analytical and able to explain complex information clearly. **Skills:** Intermediate computer skills including Email and ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System and PACS Systems. Use of MRI equipment, contrast injectors and general office equipment. MRI technicians have strong math and science skills, especially in biology, physics and chemistry. They follow instructions and work well with other health care providers. Additional soft and technical skills MRI technicians use are: · MRI scanner and computer equipment skills: MRI technicians work with complicated machines and understand how they operate.
