### Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical **Credit Analyst** to support a busy Australian mortgage brokerage by assessing borrowers' financial positions and preparing high-quality loan applications for submission. Working closely with Mortgage Brokers, you will be responsible for reviewing financial documents, analysing borrower capacity, identifying lending risks, and ensuring loan applications meet lender policies and compliance requirements before submission. This role requires strong knowledge of Australian residential lending, excellent analytical skills, and hands-on experience using **Connective Mercury** and **ApplyOnline (AOL).** ### Key Responsibilities ### Credit Assessment & Financial Analysis - Analyse borrowers' financial positions, income, liabilities, assets, and living expenses. - Review payslips, tax returns, financial statements, bank statements, and supporting documentation. - Identify undisclosed liabilities, recurring expenses, and potential credit risks. - Verify borrower information against supporting documents and lender requirements. - Assess serviceability and borrowing capacity using lender calculators. - Review loan structures and recommend suitable lending options for broker review. - Ensure applications align with lender credit policies and responsible lending obligations. ### Loan Application Preparation - Prepare accurate loan applications within Connective Mercury. - Enter borrower and security information into CRM and lender systems. - Package complete applications for broker review and submission through ApplyOnline. - Upload and organise all supporting documents. - Complete lender-specific application requirements and checklists. - Order property valuations and review valuation reports. - Prepare pricing requests and assist with lender negotiations where required. ### Compliance & Documentation - Review identification documents and verify compliance with lender requirements. - Ensure all mandatory documentation has been received before submission. - Complete compliance documentation based on broker file notes and customer interviews. - Maintain accurate client records, application notes, and document management within CRM. - Ensure all files meet internal quality assurance and compliance standards. ### Application Management - Monitor application progress from submission through approval and settlement. - Track lender turnaround times and outstanding conditions. - Liaise with lenders, brokers, solicitors, and clients to obtain additional information where required. - Keep brokers informed of application progress and any credit concerns. - Review loan offers for accuracy before settlement. ### General Administration - Maintain accurate CRM records and client files. - Monitor shared inboxes and action lender or client requests. - Assist with administrative tasks to support the mortgage team. - Prepare documentation using Adobe and Microsoft Office. - Assist with marketing collateral using Canva when required. ### Essential - Previous experience as a **Credit Analyst**, Credit Assessor, or Mortgage Credit Analyst supporting an Australian mortgage broker or lender. - Strong understanding of Australian residential lending policies and credit assessment principles. - Demonstrated experience analysing financial documents and assessing borrower serviceability. - Ability to identify lending risks and recommend appropriate loan structures. - Experience reviewing bank statements, payslips, tax returns, liabilities, and supporting financial documents. - Strong understanding of responsible lending obligations and compliance requirements. - Hands-on experience using **Connective Mercury** and **ApplyOnline (AOL).** - Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills. - High level of accuracy and attention to detail. - Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. ### Preferred - Experience working with multiple Australian lenders. - Knowledge of lender cred…
