Our summer season features T-ball, baseball, softball, and basketball fall season includes tackle football, flag football, and soccer. Schedules typically run Monday through Friday starting at 4:30 PM, with Saturday shifts beginning at 8:00 AM. If you’re passionate about sports and making a difference in your community, we’d love to have you on our team! ## Description ## Job Description **DESCRIPTION:** The YMCA is currently taking application for energetic, confident, and friendly staff to work in the sports department as Sports Officials. The Sports Official is responsible and willing to uphold the Sports Official Code of Conduct and enforce the rules of play. He/She is the sole representative at many of the YMCA games, and is to take & maintain control of the games at all times. The candidate is responsible for calling the game as fairly as possible and will make calls on a deemed needed basis. These decisions should be made quickly and with the best of his/her ability. The officiating skill level will be determined by the YMCA sports staff but a general working knowledge of the sport to be officiated is required of all officials. Days & Hours Saturdays and some weeknights The schedule varies depending on the number of leagues and teams. ## Requirements **REQUIREMENTS:** Incumbent should be able to communicate with players, coaches and parents effectively. Candidate should be able to lift 50 pounds. Ideal candidate must be energetic, enthusiastic and have the motivation to share that energy with all the sports participants. Candidate should have strong human relation skills. Incumbent must possess a strong understanding of the YMCA and its mission as well as have a strong desire to deliver a quality program to children and families in the community. Must attend required trainings including First Aid/CPR, Child Abuse Awareness, and other trainings as outlined by the YMCA. Must be 14 years or older.
