Headquartered in Pennsylvania, TLC operates across multiple states, providing K-12 alternative education, comprehensive mental and behavioral health services, coaching, counseling, and trauma-informed training. Additionally, TLC collaborates with school districts, universities, hospitals, police departments, and nonprofit organizations, offering consultation services to secure federal and state grant funding. Position Summary: The Mental Health Professional will work in partnership with New Castle County Public Safety (NCCPS) to triage emergency, mental-health related calls in the 911 operations call center. Duties & Responsibilities: • Assess the health and safety needs of those involved in each call • Determine what resource is best suited and whether it should be led by law enforcement, emergency medical services, or a mental health professional • Divert those in need of mental health support from encountering the criminal justice system, whenever possible • Track the number of calls received, calls diverted to 911, calls returned to 911, referrals made, follow-ups, and the number of Behavioral Health Unit referrals • Attend mandatory trainings and regularly scheduled meetings to help develop and manage the program • Collect data and develop reports as required • Submit monthly timesheet/invoice for hours completed Education & Experience: • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field • At least five (5) years’ mental health professional experience • Flexibility to work a rotating shift in the 911 call center • Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) • Hospital/crisis background preferred • Experience with law enforcement preferred Other Duties: This job description does not contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
