The Graduate Assistant will also be responsible for assisting with administrative duties and Student-Athlete wellness. Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. | | **Minimum Qualifications:** • Earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution • Enrollment or acceptance in a Drake University graduate program • Must be available to work evenings and weekends | | **Preferred Qualifications:** Collegiate basketball experience as a Student-Athlete or coach | | **Job Duties:** % - Assist the head coach and assistant coaches in setting up the facility for practices, games and opponent practices. - (Essential) % - Oversee the organization and supervision of student managers and practice players. Meet with them to ensure the support of the program and monitor attendance to daily practice sessions. - (Essential) % - Update and distribute practice plans for staff, coaches, visitors, fans, etc. - (Essential) % - Assist with administrative duties, including but not limited to: facilities reservations, community service functions, event planning, and donation requests, etc. - (Essential) % - Demonstrate appropriate communication related to internal (student athletes, strength and conditioning staff, athletic training staff, coaching staff, athletics staff) and external (fans, parents, prospects, campus community, etc.) - (Essential) % - Contribute to a positive and energetic working environment within the Drake Athletics Department and University. - (Essential) % - Other duties as assigned. - (Essential) | **Special Instructions to Applicants:** For consideration, you must apply online.
