## Overview **EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE for MLT** Minimum of Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technician (Chemical or Biological Sciences) or Medical Laboratory technician from an accredited institution.Two years’ experience preferred, but not required **EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE for MT :** Bachelor’s Degree in a chemical, physical biological or clinical laboratory science or meet other provisions defined in CLIA 42CFT 493. Two years’ experience preferred but not required. **CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS for MLT** - National recognized laboratory certification such as ASCP, NCA or AMT is required. - Current BLS certification - **CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS for MT** - National recognized laboratory certification such as ASCP or AMT is required within 6 months of hire. Exceptions or extensions may be given on an individual basis, which is based on extenuating circumstances. All exceptions or extensions must be approved by the laboratory director, laboratory manager and director of human resources.
