Medical Biller

# Medical Biller Eye Care Specialists is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our growing ophthalmology and optometry practice. The ideal candidate will be organized, accurate, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. **Responsibilities:** - Submit accurate and timely insurance claims - Review claims for accuracy and proper coding - Follow up on unpaid, rejected, and denied claims - Investigate and resolve billing and payment discrepancies - Post insurance and patient payments - Work insurance accounts receivable and aging reports - Verify insurance eligibility and benefits when needed - Obtain prior authorizations and referrals as assigned - Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and reimbursement - Answer patient questions and assist with billing concerns - Maintain accurate documentation and protect patient confidentiality - Collaborate with providers and staff to resolve coding and documentation issues **Qualifications:** - Previous medical billing experience is preferred - Ophthalmology or optometry billing experience is a plus - Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, insurance claims, denials, and appeals - Familiarity with Medicare and commercial insurance plans - Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills - Professional written and verbal communication skills - Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently - Experience with electronic medical records and practice-management systems is preferred **Benefits for Full-Time Employees:** - 10 paid holidays - 10 days of PTO after a 90-day probationary period - Medical, life, and short-term disability insurance - Dental plan reimbursement - 401(k) eligibility after one year of employment - Employee discounts on eye exams, eyewear, contact lenses, LASIK/PRK, cataract surgery, cosmetic services, and eye care treatments **Benefits for Part-Time Employees:** - Flexible scheduling - Employee discounts on eye exams, eyewear, contact lenses, LASIK/PRK, cataract surgery, cosmetic services, and eye care treatments To apply, please submit your résumé.
