The selected candidate will receive cross-training to perform back-office Medical Assistant responsibilities as operational needs require.** **Important: This position requires a Level 2 background screening through Florida's Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse as a condition of employment, pursuant to Chapters 408 and 435, Florida Statutes.** https://ahca.myflorida.com/health-quality-assurance/bureau-of-central-services/background-screening/clearinghouse **Snapshot of key accountabilities of the Medical Assistant:** - Conduct patient intake, including medical and social histories, and perform STI screenings and point-of-care testing. - Educate patients in a non-directive manner on birth control options and pregnancy-related services, supporting informed decision-making. - Ensure exam rooms are properly prepped and sanitized between patients, and assist with basic clinical tasks and lab work in accordance with medical standards. - Provide excellent patient service aligned with Planned Parenthood’s values of respect, equity, and inclusion. - Accurately maintain patient records and documentation while upholding confidentiality and compliance standards. - Support the daily operations of the health center through cross-functional collaboration, flexibility, and accountability. **Experience/Education of the Medical Assistant:** - High School graduate or equivalent. - A minimum of one (3) year of experience or equivalent. - Medical care and reproductive rights experience helpful. - Experience in dealing with the public. - The ability to learn ultrasound, procedural assistance and AB lab as well as other skill enhancements at the discretion of the affiliate. - **Ability and willingness to primarily support front office operations while completing cross-training for back-office Medical Assistant responsibilities.** - Must have a strong understanding of and personal commitment to reproductive rights and the goals and responsibilities of Planned Parenthood. - Excellent organizational, communication and sound decision-making skills. - Must have a commitment to efficiency and quality. - Must be comfortable when discussing sexuality, contraception, sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy options. - Ability to recognize and function appropriately in sensitive situations. - Previous experience working with Microsoft Office suite is preferred. **What does it take to thrive here?** - A strong commitment to our mission and values. - Ability to relate to and care for diverse populations and communities. - Conscientious, cooperative, and detail oriented. - Stable, dependable and accountable. - Friendly and professional demeanor that helps patients feel comfortable. **Benefits and Compensation:** - Hourly compensation range for Medical Assistant: Starting at $20.00/ hour, commensurate w…
