## **Clinical Duties** - Prepare patients for examination (vital signs, height, weight, chief complaint, medical history). - Assist providers during exams and minor procedures. - Perform phlebotomy, collect specimens (blood, urine, swabs), and label correctly. - Conduct point-of-care testing (blood glucose, pregnancy test, urinalysis, etc.). - Administer immunizations, injections, and medications as directed by the provider. - Document care in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). - Prepare and maintain exam rooms (sanitizing, restocking supplies). - Support infection control protocols and proper use of PPE. * * * ## **Administrative Duties** - Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-ups. - Answer phones, relay messages, and manage patient inquiries. - Process referrals to specialists and imaging centers. - Maintain patient records, update demographics, and ensure accuracy. - Handle medical correspondence, including faxing, scanning, and emailing. **QUALIFICATIONS:** 1. Education Required HS Diploma or Equivalence 2. License/Certification/Registration(s) Required Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Program 3. Experience/Skills Required- One (1) year previous experience in a medical setting of relevant experience required. Excellent communication/interpersonal skills. Bilingual preferred. Knowledge of Computer Technology preferred. Successful completion of St. Barnabas Hospital orientation.
