We strive to recruit and retain top-tier clinical and non-clinical talent that reflects our values, supports our mission, and drives our continued growth. **Summary/Primary Role:** The Medical Assistant I is an entry-level clinical support role responsible for providing basic patient care and administrative assistance under direct supervision. This position supports providers and clinical teams by ensuring exam rooms are prepared, patient information is accurately collected, and workflows run smoothly. The Medical Assistant I delivers compassionate, patient-centered service while developing foundational clinical skills. **Principal Duties & Responsibilities:** **(Management may amend or assign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time)** - Prepare exam rooms and equipment in accordance with clinical and infection-control protocols. - Escort patients to exam rooms and collect vital signs, height, weight, and basic medical history. - Document patient intake information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR). - Assist providers with routine, non-invasive procedures within established competency and scope of practice. - Maintain a clean, organized, and adequately stocked clinical environment. - Greet patients warmly and support a positive, respectful care experience. - Provide basic patient instructions or educational materials as directed by the provider or nurse. - Assist with patient flow to ensure timely, efficient scheduling and provider support. - Perform basic front-office tasks such as scheduling, scanning, filing, and documentation. - Manage incoming calls or messages related to patient follow-up, prescription requests, or general inquiries, forwarding appropriately. - Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA privacy standards. - Follow established protocols for equipment cleaning, disposal of materials, and maintaining a safe workplace environment. - All other duties and responsibilities as assigned. **Qualifications:** - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Completion of a Medical Assistant training program preferred. - Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff. - Demonstrated ability to learn and perform clinical tasks safely and accurately. - Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting while maintaining attention to detail. - Basic proficiency with computers and electronic health record systems preferred. **Phlebotomy Certified:** Employees who hold a valid phlebotomy certification and perform phlebotomy duties as part of their role are eligible to receive a $1.00 per hour Phlebotomy Differential. This differential applies to all eligible hours worked while the employee is actively performing duties that require phlebotomy skills. Certification must be maintained and kept current to qualify for the differential. **Supervisory Responsibility:** This position does not have supervisory responsibility.
