As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team and support our mission. **Essential Duties:** - Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking vital signs, medical history, and documenting information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system - Responsible for entering recalls and handling new prescription/prescription refills as directed by the physician - Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to ensure patient care is delivered seamlessly and safely - Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards - Triage phone calls accordingly - Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as needed basis - Maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations - Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge - Other duties as assigned - Please note that the duties and responsibilities outlined in this job description are not exhaustive and may be subject to change at any time to meet the evolving needs of the company. In addition to the responsibilities listed above, employees may be required to perform additional tasks or duties as assigned by management. **Qualifications:** - Certification of Completion of accredited MA program (CMA or RMA) is preferred - 1+ year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in gastroenterology - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, providers, and team members - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously - Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic computer skills **Benefits:** - Competitive salary - Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off and paid holidays - Professional development opportunities - Positive and collaborative work environment **Physical Demands** The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee should be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, lift and move up to 25 lbs. The work environment is typically quiet to moderate with standard office and procedure room noise levels.
