**Position Overview** GTI is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of mechanical systems for modular infrastructure projects. This role works closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to create manufacturable designs, detailed drawings, equipment layouts, and production documentation. May require up to 10% travel. ### Key Responsibilities **Mechanical Design** - Design structural frames, enclosures, weldments, sheet metal assemblies, and equipment layouts - Develop mechanical designs that support fit, function, serviceability, installation, and transportation - Support integration of cooling equipment, piping, mechanical components, and electrical systems **Engineering Documentation & Analysis** - Create fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, bills of material, and engineering documentation - Perform component sizing, tolerance analysis, and basic engineering calculations - Support design reviews, prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting **Manufacturing Support** - Apply Design for Manufacturing principles to improve quality and production efficiency - Work with manufacturing teams to resolve fit-up, tolerance, and assembly issues - Support engineering changes and continuous product improvement ### Requirements **Required Qualifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering - 2+ years of mechanical design experience - Experience designing fabricated structures, mechanical assemblies, or industrial equipment - Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software - Experience creating manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation **Preferred Qualifications** - Experience with modular infrastructure, industrial skids, power systems, HVAC, or equipment enclosures - Experience with weldments, sheet metal, piping, thermal systems, FEA, or CFD - Background in fabrication, custom manufacturing, or New Product Introduction GTI Fabrication offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support employees and their families while providing long-term career growth opportunities within a fast-growing manufacturing organization.
