Mechanic I, II or III - Wastewater Collection

The actual salary offered will depend on qualifications and experience.*** **NOTE: The level and salary of this position will be determined by the experience level of the candidate that is selected as indicated:** **Mechanic III Minimum: $22.99 per hourMechanic II Minimum: $20.90 per hourMechanic I Minimum: $19.00 per hour** **Mechanic I** -This is an entry-level, semi-skilled position involving routine, manual-type labor in the construction, operation and maintenance of the Fort Pierce Utilities Authority's Wastewater Collection and Lift Station Systems. Work requires limited judgment and is performed under the direct supervision of a, WWC Mechanic II, WWC Mechanic III, and WWC Electrician / Electronic SCADA Technician, or as designated and is subject to close inspection during progress and upon completion of assigned tasks. **Mechanic II** - This is a mid level, semi-skilled position involving routine manual-type labor in the construction, operation and maintenance of the Fort Pierce Utilities Authority's Wastewater Collection and Lift Station Systems. **Mechanic III** - This is an advanced, highly-skilled position, involving technical and manual labor in the construction and operation and maintenance of Fort Pierce Utilities Authority's Wastewater Collection and Lift Station Systems. This position is delegated authority and responsibility for supervising a small group of unskilled and semi-skilled employees involved in preventive maintenance of Fort Pierce Utilities Authority's Wastewater Collection System, which includes but is not limited to Manholes, Gravity Mains, Sewer Laterals, Lift Stations, Force Mains, Force Main Valves, Air Releases, and Odor Control units. Work performed requires considerable judgment and is under the indirect supervision of the WWC Collection and Lift Station Foreman, or as designated. Work performed requires Considerable judgment and is under the general supervision of a WWC Mechanic III, and WWC Electrician / Electronic SCADA Technician or as designated. **SPECIAL NOTES:** **Mechanic I** - This position is used to advance to a WWCM II after serving twenty-four (24) months as a WWCM I, provided he/she has demonstrated that he/she has a clear and demonstrable understanding of all the requirements of the position and has met the following criteria: Employee must pass WWC Mechanic I standard test with 70% or better to come off of initial probation. Employee must obtain Class A CDL within 6-months. Employee must obtain Maintenance of traffic Certification (MOT) with-in twelve (12) months. Standard or above on all Evaluations. **Mechanic II** - This position is used to advance to a Wastewater Collection Mechanic III after serving thirty-six (36) months as a WWC Mechanic II, provided he/she has demonstrated that he/she has a clear and demonstrable understanding of all the requirements and has met the following criteria: Employee must have received at least standard in all areas of the past years evaluation and a minimum of a 50 total score. Employee must serve a Minimum of two (2) years as a Wastewater Collection Mechanic I. Employee must pass Mechanic II standard test with a 70% or better. Employee must have current Maintenance of traffic Certification (MOT) Employee must have class A CDL. **Mechanic III** - Wastewater Collection Mechanic III position is used to advance to after serving thirty-six (36) months as a WWC Mechanic II, provided he/she has demonstrated that he/she has a clear and demonstrable understanding of all the requirements of the position.
