## Overview A warm family is seeking a **kind, patient, and compassionate Companion Caregiver** to assist their beloved elderly family member in her home on the **Upper East Side of Manhattan**. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys building meaningful relationships and providing thoughtful companionship while supporting an independent senior with day-to-day activities. The ideal candidate is calm, organized, proactive, and understands how to offer assistance while respecting a client's independence and dignity. This role is centered around companionship and light support rather than hands-on personal care or heavy housekeeping. ### Schedule - **Start Date:** ASAP - **Location:** Upper East Side, Manhattan - **Schedule:** 2–3 days per week (preferred Monday, Wednesday & Friday) - **Hours:** 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM - **Live-Out Position** ## Responsibilities ### - Provide warm companionship and emotional support throughout the day - Assist with mobility and provide a steady arm while walking, particularly during outings - Accompany to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and other errands - Help organize household projects and light "puttering" tasks around the home - Assist with basic technology needs, including setting up devices, logging into healthcare portals, and troubleshooting simple issues - Provide gentle reminders for medications, meals, and daily routines - Encourage engagement and conversation while respecting the client's pace and independence - Support daily activities while allowing the client to remain as independent as possible ## Requirements - Reliable and punctual - Comfortable accompanying the client throughout Manhattan for appointments and errands - Able to provide mobility assistance as needed - Legally authorized to work in the United States - Strong references - Previous experience caring for seniors or working as a companion caregiver - Patient, compassionate, and an excellent listener - Comfortable assisting someone who is frail and requires support with walking - Tech-savvy enough to assist with smartphones, online accounts, and basic computer tasks - Organized, dependable, and proactive - Strong communication skills and respectful of a client's autonomy ## Salary and Benefits ### - **$45/hour** - Heavy housekeeping is **not required**; professional cleaners service the home twice per week
