Materials Technician

# **Job Description** **SUMMARY** This position is required to bring correct and sufficient amounts of materials to machines, maintain correct inventories, determine which orders to run at a certain time, control scrap, monitor and identify raw material usage variances. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES** - Supply color and resin to assigned machines - Maintain grinders - Grind or dispose of scrap - Operate machine during operator breaks - Perform color changes on assigned machines - Create production labels - Scan out of color - Maintain the resin silo board - Check color chips for color match - Material management - control of scrap and regrind usage - Report scrap in detail - Follow applicable Food Safety and cGMP polices **SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES** This job has no supervisory responsibilities. **REQUIREMENTS** - High School diploma or GED required - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Ability to anticipate machine needs and develop a routine - Effective comm - Basic computer skills - Basic mechanical understanding - Comprehension of central resin system **PHYSICAL DEMANDS** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
