Materials Planner

**Material Planner** **Job Purpose:** **Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of material through the production cycle. Determines material requirements from engineering and production schedule. Coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering. Developsspecifications for new contract orders.** **Nature of Duties:** **Analyze customer demand and optimize build plans for specific products, keeping materials and resource requirementsReview New products/parts planning attributes and ensure they are correctly set up.Review BOM structures and ensure that they align with manufacturing strategyPeriodically review critical ERP planning attributes and keep them aligned.Review ECOs, prepare implementation plans and actually implement them.Release required work orders in timely manner and promptly close them on completion after reconciling variances.** **Follow up materials shortages and production flow thru the factory to keep build plan on schedule.** **Education and Experience:** **Bachelors degree; preferably in Engineering or Business.Minimum of 6-8 years planning experience in manufacturing machining environment preferred.Experience in Contract Manufacturing Environment preferredGood understanding of critical ERP planning attributes.Hands on experience in ECO planning and Implementations.Must have strong working knowledge of Oracle and Rapid Response.Command of Microsoft Excel at advanced level.APICs certification in Planning is required.** MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL **Sanmina is an Equal Opportunity Employer** **This is an ITAR facility and applicant must be a US Citizen.**
